Since trade plays a major role in our lives, we buy or sell goods and services every day, I see the study and preservation of the Karelian language for myself, first of all, in this area. Reading the description of Elias Lönnrot’s travels in the first half of the 19th century, I was very surprised by the development of trading skills among the northern Karelians of those years. Our ancestors were successfully engaged in trade throughout Fennoscandia and our task is to preserve all their experience.
I want to select the minimum number of words and simple phrases that anyone can learn to be able to use the Karelian language in everyday life.
