Pankki — both in Karelian and Finnish means bank

Pankki — both in Karelian and Finnish means bank. I think that since it is unrealistic to switch to Karelian completely now, because many of us were not taught it at school, in order to preserve and popularize our trade and financial terms, we can use them at least as modern synonyms. In this way, we will diversify the vocabulary of the residents of the Republic of Karelia, preserve the cultural heritage of our small nations and support the desire for friendship and mutual understanding.

Sortavala. Leanderin talo. The building of the National Joint-Stock Bank (Finnish: Kansallis-Osake-Pankki) built in 1905 according to the design of the architect Eliel Saarinen. Currently bears the name of the first director of the bank Oskar Johannes Leander

Karelian language for life in the 21st century

Since trade plays a major role in our lives, we buy or sell goods and services every day, I see the study and preservation of the Karelian language for myself, first of all, in this area. Reading the description of the travels of Elias Lönnrot in the first half of the 19th century, I was very surprised by the development of trading skills among the northern Karelians of those years. Our ancestors were successfully engaged in trade throughout Fennoscandia and our task is to preserve all their experience.

I want to select the minimum number of words and simple phrases that anyone can learn to be able to use the Karelian language in everyday life.
